#### Private, local-first personal finance analyzer

AegisMoneyScope imports your bank and credit-card statements (PDF, OFX, QFX
and CSV), categorizes every transaction, and shows where your money goes:
spending trends, essentials vs. extras, cash-flow patterns and paydays,
recurring charges, benchmarks against similar households, and "what if"
budget scenarios. A built-in AI advisor answers questions about your finances
in plain English.

Everything stays on your computer. AI features run on a local model through
Ollama (<https://ollama.com>), installed separately — the app explains how on
first start. Without Ollama you can still import OFX, QFX and CSV files and
use every analytics view.

AegisMoneyScope is in beta and free to use: there is no license charge and
every feature is available. Some features may later require a one-time
license purchase.

## Enable snaps on elementary OS and install AegisMoneyScope

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on elementary OS from the command line. Open *Terminal* from the Applications launcher and type the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install AegisMoneyScope

To install AegisMoneyScope, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install aegismoneyscope --candidate
