#### Watch your AI coding agent reshape your codebase, live

An AI agent rewriting your codebase looks like scrolling text in a terminal.
Agent Monitor shows you what it is actually doing — every file, class, and
function it touches, lighting up as it happens.

Three panes, updating while the agent works:

* Narrative / Review notes — a streamed running commentary on what the agent
  appears to be doing, and a file-by-file compilation of everything the AI has
  said about the change, with risk levels.
* Structure — repository to directories to files to classes to functions, as
  a force-directed graph. Changed symbols light up and pulse.
* Flow — the static call graph, entry points fanning right through your
  functions into external packages.

You can also point it at uncommitted work, a specific commit, or this branch
against another, to review the shape of a change before opening a PR.

Symbol identity is a hash of the AST rather than the source text, so
reformatting produces no changes at all — a formatter run will not light up
the whole graph, while a docstring edit still counts. Python is fully
supported; JavaScript and TypeScript via tree-sitter; every other language
still appears at file level, so nothing is invisible.

AI insights are optional and inert until you add an Anthropic API key in
Settings. The key never reaches the frontend and nothing is sent without it.

Note: as a strictly-confined snap, Agent Monitor can read repositories under
your home directory and on removable media. Repositories elsewhere on the
filesystem are not visible to it.

## Enable snaps on Arch Linux and install Agent Monitor

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

On Arch Linux, snap can be installed from the [Arch User Repository (AUR).](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/snapd/)
The [manual build process](https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_User_Repository#Installing_packages) is the Arch-supported
install method for AUR packages, and you’ll need the [prerequisites](https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_User_Repository#Prerequisites)
installed before you can install any AUR package. You can then install snap with the following:

```
git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/snapd.git
cd snapd
makepkg -si
```

Once installed, the *systemd* unit that manages the main snap communication socket needs to be enabled:

```
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.socket
```

If [AppArmor](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AppArmor) is enabled in your system, enable the service which loads AppArmor profiles for snaps:

```
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.apparmor.service
```

To enable *classic* snap support, enter the following to create a symbolic link between `/var/lib/snapd/snap` and `/snap`:

```
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install Agent Monitor

To install Agent Monitor, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install agentmonitor
```
