#### AI job search assistant that runs on your PC: find, score, tailor, track

AI Job Hunter is a job search assistant that runs on your own PC. It searches dozens of job boards and applicant tracking systems at once, scores each posting against your résumé, and tailors your résumé and cover letter to a job using the AI provider you choose. It also keeps track of every application you send.

Your data stays on your machine. Your résumé, applications, notes and generated documents live in a database on your PC. For a fully offline setup, use a local model through Ollama. Otherwise, connect your own API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or another provider. The app only talks to the services you configure.

What you can do:

* Search many job boards and ATS platforms in one place. Filter by remote, hybrid or on-site roles. Postings whose details could not be verified are flagged.
* Get an ATS-style match score and a keyword gap analysis for any posting.
* Tailor your résumé and cover letter to a specific job. Every claim is checked against your original document, so nothing gets invented.
* Build a résumé from scratch with a guided builder and export it as PDF or DOCX using one of the included templates.
* Run Autopilot: scheduled searches that find and score matching jobs for you to review. You still apply to each one yourself.
* Track applications through every stage, from saved to offer.
* Pair the free browser extension for Chrome and Firefox to import postings from the page you are on and fill application forms with your saved answers. In the snap build the extension pairs over a local WebSocket, since native messaging is not available inside the snap sandbox.

AI features are optional. They work with a local Ollama model or your own provider key. Job search and application tracking work without any key.

## Enable snaps on openSUSE and install AI Job Hunter

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed from the command line on openSUSE Leap 15.x and Tumbleweed.

You need first add the *snappy* repository from the terminal. Choose the appropriate command depending on your installed openSUSE flavor.

Tumbleweed:

```
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Tumbleweed snappy
```

Leap 15.x:

```
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Leap_15.6 snappy
```

If needed, Swap out `openSUSE_Leap_15.` for, `openSUSE_Leap_16.0` if you’re using a different version of openSUSE.

With the repository added, import its GPG key:

```
sudo zypper --gpg-auto-import-keys refresh
```

Finally, upgrade the package cache to include the new *snappy* repository:

```
sudo zypper dup --from snappy
```

Snap can now be installed with the following:

```
sudo zypper install snapd
```

You then need to either reboot, logout/login or `source /etc/profile` to have /snap/bin added to PATH.
Additionally, enable and start both the *snapd* and the *snapd.apparmor* services with the following commands:

```
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.apparmor
```

### Install AI Job Hunter
