#### Android development tools

Tools commonly used for Android development.
Currently the following tools are supported:

* adb
* fastboot
* mke2fs.android (required by fastboot)
* simg2img, img2simg, append2simg
* mkbootimg, unpack\_bootimg, repack\_bootimg, avbtool

In order to enable the full featureset you will have to
grant permissions to this Snap:

`sudo snap connect android-platform-tools:adb-support`

`sudo snap connect android-platform-tools:block-devices`

`sudo snap connect android-platform-tools:raw-usb`

`sudo snap connect android-platform-tools:removable-media`

`sudo snap connect android-platform-tools:network`

`sudo snap connect android-platform-tools:network-bind`

Creating system-wide aliases is also possible:

`sudo snap alias android-platform-tools.adb adb`

`sudo snap alias android-platform-tools.fastboot fastboot`

## Enable snaps on KDE Neon and install android-platform-tools

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed from the command line. Open the *Konsole* terminal and enter the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

### Install android-platform-tools

To install android-platform-tools, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install android-platform-tools
```
