#### Fast, simple text editor with syntax highlighting, projects and terminal

Apedi is a lightweight GTK 4 / GtkSourceView 5 editor that stays out of
your way. It bundles formatters and a small set of IDE conveniences while
keeping the start-up footprint of a plain text editor.

* Syntax highlighting for ~150 languages
* Code formatting (Ctrl+Shift+I) via bundled black / prettier /
  gofmt / rustfmt / clang-format / shfmt
* Multi-project sidebar — .gitignore-aware, per-extension icons and
  colors, auto-reveal of the active tab
* Quick Open (Ctrl+P) and Find in Files (Ctrl+Shift+F)
* Go to Symbol in file (Ctrl+M)
* Integrated VTE terminal with bash and zsh (Ctrl+`)
* Optional autosave (delay / focus loss)
* Crash recovery: drafts survive unexpected exits
* File watcher — external edits reload, or warn if dirty
* Localized UI (English, Polski)
* Snippets, code folding, tabbed Preferences, dark / light / auto theme
* Strict snap confinement — no host-write access beyond the user's home
  and any drives plugged in via removable-media

## Enable snaps on Fedora and install Apedi

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on Fedora from the command line:

```
sudo dnf install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

To enable *classic* snap support, enter the following to create a symbolic link between `/var/lib/snapd/snap` and `/snap`:

```
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
```

### Install Apedi

To install Apedi, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install apedi
```
