#### Save the planet from inevitable annihilation! Online, with your friends!

Play with friends online to defend the planet! Longest time to first impact or longest time to 100% damage. You destroy asteroids by flying into them before they hit the planet!

* First Tier: The longer you can prevent the first hit on the planet.
* Second Tier: The longer you can prevent the planet from being annihilated!
* Third Tier: How many asteroids did you and your friends collectively destroy?

Just make sure you all start on the same epoch! The first person to create the epoch sets the number of approaching asteroids in each wave.

**Mouse locks when you click on the window, press ESCAPE to unlock the mouse.**

* Use W,A,S,D,Q,E,SPACE & LEFT SHIFT to move around.
* L-CTRL / Right Click to Brake.
* L-ALT / Mouse 3/4 Click to Instant Brake.
* R = Toggle auto-tilt/roll around planet.
* Q+E to stop rolling.
* F = FPS to console.

**Hosting your own server (the default server may not be online)**

Download the deb from <https://astroimpact.github.io> or compile from source <https://github.com/mrbid/AstroImpact>

Make sure you have Network Time Protocol (NTP) enabled, the game relies on syncing epoches between machines for many aspects of networking.

Make sure you have UDP port 8086 forwarded from your router.

## Enable snaps on Fedora and install AstroImpact

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on Fedora from the command line:

```
sudo dnf install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

To enable *classic* snap support, enter the following to create a symbolic link between `/var/lib/snapd/snap` and `/snap`:

```
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
```

### Install AstroImpact

To install AstroImpact, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install astroimpact
```
