#### Battery monitoring application for Linux

Battely is a battery monitoring and management application designed to help you keep track of your device's battery health, status, and charging levels. With automatic startup support, Battely can continuously monitor your battery in the background and notify you about important battery events.

Battely also lets you manage your battery using multiple customizable profiles based on how you use your device. Each profile can have its own minimum and maximum battery level limits.

For example, if you're working for long hours and want to get the most out of your battery, you can create a **Work** profile with a minimum battery level of **10%** and a maximum level of **90%**. You can create additional profiles with different limits for other situations and switch between them according to your needs.

With Battely, you can:

* Monitor your battery status and health.
* Receive notifications about important battery levels and events.
* Automatically start battery monitoring when you log in.
* Create and manage multiple battery profiles.
* Set custom minimum and maximum battery levels for each profile.
* Switch between profiles based on your usage requirements.

Battely provides a simple and flexible way to monitor and manage your Linux device's battery according to the way you work.

**Linux Snap Installation**

When installing via Snap, the app requires the `hardware-observe` interface to read battery information.

**Connecting the interface**

If battery information is not showing, connect the interface manually:

`sudo snap connect battely:hardware-observe`

**Verifying the connection**

`snap connections battely | grep hardware-observe`

You should see the interface connected. If not, run the connect command above.

## Enable snaps on Arch Linux and install Battely

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

On Arch Linux, snap can be installed from the [Arch User Repository (AUR).](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/snapd/)
The [manual build process](https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_User_Repository#Installing_packages) is the Arch-supported
install method for AUR packages, and you’ll need the [prerequisites](https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_User_Repository#Prerequisites)
installed before you can install any AUR package. You can then install snap with the following:

```
git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/snapd.git
cd snapd
makepkg -si
```

Once installed, the *systemd* unit that manages the main snap communication socket needs to be enabled:

```
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.socket
```

If [AppArmor](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AppArmor) is enabled in your system, enable the service which loads AppArmor profiles for snaps:

```
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.apparmor.service
```

To enable *classic* snap support, enter the following to create a symbolic link between `/var/lib/snapd/snap` and `/snap`:

```
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install Battely

To install Battely, simply use the following command:
