#### Screenshots, annotations and screen recordings for tutorials

Capcap makes step-by-step guides, bug reports and demo videos fast.

**Capture and annotate**

* Capture a region or the full screen with a global shortcut
* Add numbered steps, arrows, boxes, freehand lines and text
* Copy the image and paste it straight into chat, email or docs, or save it as PNG or JPG

**Record your screen**

* Record the full screen, a region or a single window
* Your voice and the computer's sound, kept in sync, with optional echo and noise reduction
* Draw on the screen while recording to point things out
* Pause and resume; a recording is recovered if the computer stops suddenly

**Share**

* Connect Google Drive or OneDrive: videos upload in the background with visible progress
* The share link is copied for you, ready to paste

Works on Ubuntu 24.04 or later with the GNOME desktop (Wayland and X11). Available in English and Tiếng Việt.

**First run**

* To record your voice, allow "Audio record" in App Center → Capcap → Permissions, or run: sudo snap connect capcap:audio-record
* The first time you capture or record, Ubuntu asks which screen to share. Keep "Remember this selection" ticked so it asks only once.

## Enable snaps on openSUSE and install Capcap

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed from the command line on openSUSE Leap 15.x and Tumbleweed.

You need first add the *snappy* repository from the terminal. Choose the appropriate command depending on your installed openSUSE flavor.

Tumbleweed:

```
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Tumbleweed snappy
```

Leap 15.x:

```
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Leap_15.6 snappy
```

If needed, Swap out `openSUSE_Leap_15.` for, `openSUSE_Leap_16.0` if you’re using a different version of openSUSE.

With the repository added, import its GPG key:

```
sudo zypper --gpg-auto-import-keys refresh
```

Finally, upgrade the package cache to include the new *snappy* repository:

```
sudo zypper dup --from snappy
```

Snap can now be installed with the following:

```
sudo zypper install snapd
```

You then need to either reboot, logout/login or `source /etc/profile` to have /snap/bin added to PATH.
Additionally, enable and start both the *snapd* and the *snapd.apparmor* services with the following commands:

```
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.apparmor
```

### Install Capcap

To install Capcap, simply use the following command:
