#### Run VS Code on any machine anywhere and access it in the browser.

* Code on any device with a consistent development environment
* Use cloud servers to speed up tests, compilations, downloads, and more
* Preserve battery life when you're on the go; all intensive tasks run on your server

**NOTE!** This is an early release of `code-server`. The whole package might change.
Use at your own risk.

**DISCLAIMER** The developer of this package is not affiliated or closely associated
with Coder Tech. Inc., the developers behind `code-server`. However we try to keep it
as close to original as possible, with the limitations a (strictly confined) snap will
give.

**Plugs**

* vscs-content: Connect other snap pacakges to this package, e.g

  ```
  sudo snap connect code-server:vscs-content home-assistant-snap:vscs-content
  ```

  Make configurations of Home Assistant available in `code-server`, but this is only
  available for the daemon or root user, and not when executing `code-server` as a
  normal user.

## Enable snaps on Raspberry Pi and install code-server

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

On a [Raspberry Pi](https://www.raspberrypi.org/) running the latest version of [Raspbian](https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/) snap can be installed directly from the command line:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

You will also need to reboot your device:

```
sudo reboot
```

After this, install the snapd snap in order to get the latest snapd:

```
sudo snap install snapd
```

### Install code-server

To install code-server, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install code-server
```
