**eXeLearning** is an easy to use authoring tool under GPL-2+ to create **educational web contents**.

**Installing eXeLearning on Ubuntu:** `sudo snap install exelearning`

**eXeLearning** generates interactive contents in HTML5 and other formats and it allows you to create websites including text, images, interactive activities, image galleries, evaluating rubrics, multimedia clips, games...

All the educational materials can be exported in different formats: SCORM, IMS, ePub, responsive HTML website, XLIFF...

**eXeLearning** is available for GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. Go to <https://exelearning.net/> for more download options.

**eXelearning SNAP package known issues:**

* No custom browser selection.
* eXeLearning is not the default application for the elp files. You can make it the default one, but all zip files will then be open with it. We recommend the File - Open option instead.

## Enable snaps on elementary OS and install eXeLearning

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on elementary OS from the command line. Open *Terminal* from the Applications launcher and type the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install eXeLearning

To install eXeLearning, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install exelearning
```
