#### A fast terminal text editor for programmers

Flow Control is a programmer's text editor for the terminal. It has
tabs, palettes and full mouse support, multiple cursors, clipboard
history, infinite undo and smooth scrolling, and opens very large
files quickly. Syntax highlighting for more than 70 languages comes
from tree-sitter parsers built into the editor, together with its
themes. Keybinding modes are included for Flow (similar to VS Code),
Emacs, Vim and Helix; press F4 to switch between them.

The editor command is flow-control. To type flow instead, run:

```
sudo snap alias flow-control flow
```

**Examples**

```
flow-control ~/notes.md
flow-control src/main.c:120
flow-control README.md +40
flow-control --language bash ~/scripts/backup
flow-control --project ~/code/myapp
flow-control --list-languages
```

Press F1 for the manual, Ctrl+Shift+P or Alt+X for the command palette
and Ctrl+F2 for the list of keybindings. A terminal with 24-bit color,
a Nerd Font and a UTF-8 locale is recommended.

**File access**

Flow Control can edit files in your home directory. To also edit files
on USB drives and other removable media (/media, /mnt), run:

```
sudo snap connect flow-control:removable-media
```

The configuration is stored in ~/snap/flow-control/current/.config/flow.

**Strict confinement**

git and ripgrep are included, so git status, the project file list and
find in files work. Language servers, formatters and other programs
installed on your computer cannot be started from the editor, so code
completion, diagnostics and formatting through them are not available.

## Enable snaps on openSUSE and install Flow Control

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed from the command line on openSUSE Leap 15.x and Tumbleweed.

You need first add the *snappy* repository from the terminal. Choose the appropriate command depending on your installed openSUSE flavor.

Tumbleweed:

```
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Tumbleweed snappy
```

Leap 15.x:

```
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Leap_15.6 snappy
```

If needed, Swap out `openSUSE_Leap_15.` for, `openSUSE_Leap_16.0` if you’re using a different version of openSUSE.

With the repository added, import its GPG key:

```
sudo zypper --gpg-auto-import-keys refresh
```

Finally, upgrade the package cache to include the new *snappy* repository:

```
sudo zypper dup --from snappy
```

Snap can now be installed with the following:

```
sudo zypper install snapd
```

You then need to either reboot, logout/login or `source /etc/profile` to have /snap/bin added to PATH.
Additionally, enable and start both the *snapd* and the *snapd.apparmor* services with the following commands:

```
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.apparmor
```

### Install Flow Control

To install Flow Control, simply use the following command:

```
