#### GitHub user statistics SVG card generator

A FastAPI service that generates SVG stats cards for GitHub users,
similar to github-readme-stats. Packaged with an nginx reverse proxy
that runs automatically as a daemon.

* GraphQL API with token for accurate lifetime stats
* REST API fallback without a token
* 52 built-in color themes
* In-memory caching with stale-serving on rate limit
* Configurable username allowlist

## Configuration

Set the public listening port:

```
 sudo snap set github-user-stats port=8080
```

Restrict which GitHub users can be queried:

```
 sudo snap set github-user-stats allowed-users=kenvandine,octocat
```

Add a GitHub token for GraphQL access and higher rate limits:

```
 sudo snap set github-user-stats github-token=ghp_xxxxxxxxxxxx
```

## Enable snaps on Pop!\_OS and install github-user-stats

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on Pop!\_OS from the command line. Open Terminal from the Applications launcher and type the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install github-user-stats

To install github-user-stats, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install github-user-stats
```
