**Plugs you need to connect before playing**

`sudo snap connect guac-tsugu:alsa` !!! The app will not launch without this !!!

`sudo snap connect guac-tsugu:joystick` (if you want to use one)

You can also go to *Settings > Apps > Guac* and toggle the permissions there

**Running the games**

Run the executable with a rom path (gb, gbc, gba, nds are required extensions) to immediately enter the game.

```
guac-tsugu -r="../rom/pokemon_emerald.gba"
```

**Setting up Console Mode**

At root, create a "roms.json" file. This file will hold the game metadata in the following format. At this time Art must be 1:1 pngs or jpgs. Watch trailing commas in json.

```
[
 {
  "RomPath": "./rom/gba/the_minish_cap.gba",
  "ArtPath": "./art/the_minish_cap.png"
 }
 ...]
```

## Enable snaps on elementary OS and install Guac (Unofficial)

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on elementary OS from the command line. Open *Terminal* from the Applications launcher and type the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install Guac (Unofficial)

To install Guac (Unofficial), simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install guac-tsugu
```
