#### A simple, local-first note-taking app

Hugvi is a modern, privacy-focused, and fast desktop-only note-taking app.
It is designed for developers to manage code snippets and notes with excellent syntax highlighting. All data is stored locally using SQLite, ensuring your notes remain private and secure. You can also export your notes as .md files or pure .txt files.
Hugvi is available in English, French and German and supports Dark and Light modes out of the box.

## Enable snaps on Debian and install hugvi

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

On Debian 9 (Stretch) and newer, snap can be installed directly from the command line:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

After this, install the snapd snap in order to get the latest snapd:

```
sudo snap install snapd
```

### Install hugvi

To install hugvi, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install hugvi
```
