InfluxDB is a time series, metrics, and analytics database. It’s written
in Go and has no external dependencies. That means once you install it
there’s nothing else to manage (such as Redis, ZooKeeper, Cassandra,
HBase, or anything else). InfluxDB is targeted at use cases for DevOps,
metrics, sensor data, and real-time analytics.

## Enable snaps on Debian and install influxdb

### Enable snapd

On Debian 9 (Stretch) and newer, snap can be installed directly from the command line:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

After this, install the snapd snap in order to get the latest snapd:

```
sudo snap install snapd
```

### Install influxdb

To install influxdb, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install influxdb --beta
```
