#### Landscape Client

This is the (strictly confined) snap version of the Landscape Client. It can be used register, connect, monitor and manage an Ubuntu device, including Core, to an existing Landscape Server instance.

**Current limitations:**

* The snap client cannot manage deb packages
* The snap client cannot manage users on Classic systems

Note: snap management in Landscape server is only currently available with self-hosted/on-prem instances using 23-08 or later. It is also available using a Canonical Landscape SaaS account.

## Enable snaps on Raspberry Pi and install landscape-client

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

On a [Raspberry Pi](https://www.raspberrypi.org/) running the latest version of [Raspbian](https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/) snap can be installed directly from the command line:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

You will also need to reboot your device:

```
sudo reboot
```

After this, install the snapd snap in order to get the latest snapd:

```
sudo snap install snapd
```

### Install landscape-client

To install landscape-client, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install landscape-client
```
