#### Flash media stress test program

Mikaey's Flash Stress Test is a program to stress test flash media to the
point of failure -- and possibly beyond. It detects whether a storage
device is fake flash, speed tests the device, and stress tests it.

**WARNING**

This program is DESTRUCTIVE. It is designed to stress test storage
devices (particularly flash media) to the point of failure. If you
let this program run for long enough, it WILL completely destroy the
device and render it completely unusable. Do not use it on any
storage devices that you care about.

**Notice**

This is NOT an official distribution of Mikaey's Flash Stress Test.

## Enable snaps on Pop!\_OS and install Mikaey's Flash Stress Test (UNOFFICIAL)

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on Pop!\_OS from the command line. Open Terminal from the Applications launcher and type the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install Mikaey's Flash Stress Test (UNOFFICIAL)

To install Mikaey's Flash Stress Test (UNOFFICIAL), simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install mfst
```
