#### Create music with a sample-based sequencer

**Monfree is a sample-based audio sequencer where you trigger sounds, build step patterns, and put them together into a track.**

**Sequencer**

* 16-pad grid interface
* 1 to 16 steps per pattern
* 80 patterns total
* One-shot and choke pad play modes

**Samples**

* 80 sample slots
* Max 10 seconds per sample

* Gain, BPM, High Pass, Low Pass, EQ Pre, Compressor, Saturator, EQ Post

**Pad and Step Effects/Options**

* Gain, Pitch, High Pass, Low Pass, EQ Pre, Compressor, Saturator, EQ Post

## Enable snaps on Pop!\_OS and install Monfree

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on Pop!\_OS from the command line. Open Terminal from the Applications launcher and type the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install Monfree

To install Monfree, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install monfree
```
