#### Cyberpunk tactical arena game with chain-reaction explosions

**Neon Blaster — Overdrive**

Neon Blaster is a tactical arcade action game set in a high-octane cyberpunk universe. You are a cybernetic agent infiltrating corrupted digital sectors, planting plasma charges to breach silicon firewalls and purge hostile programs in devastating cross-shaped explosions and chain reactions.

**Tactical Grid Combat**

Each sector is a digital labyrinth of impenetrable pillars and destructible containment blocks. Move strategically across the grid, place timed detonation cores, and corner threats before they corner you.

**Kinetic Chain Reactions**

One detonation instantly triggers neighboring charges. Plan elaborate traps that clear entire corridors in a fraction of a second.

**Propulsion and Kick Modules**

Special modules let you kick projectiles down corridors at high speed and push bombs toward enemies. With the remote trigger module, you decide the exact millisecond your charges detonate — creating lethal ambushes and total terrain control.

**Cyber Codex — Upgrades and Synergies**

Destroy blocks and take down priority targets to collect upgrade chips and components, all catalogued in the Item Book:

* **Firepower Capacity** — expands simultaneous active charges
* **Plasma Amplifiers** — increases blast range
* **Speed Thrusters** — faster response and agility in grid corners
* **Spectral Shield** — temporary barrier absorbing critical damage
* **Freeze Module** — briefly freezes all enemies on the arena
* **Quantum Magnet** — automatically attracts loose items and chips

**Threats and Sector Bosses**

* **Patrol Drones** — sweep the map axes methodically
* **Aggressive Trackers** — actively chase the agent along the shortest routes
* **Phasing Specters** — incorporeal entities that pass through solid blocks and surprise you from behind
* **Sector Titans** — colossal mechanical bosses with multiple combat phases, area attacks, laser barrages, and movement patterns demanding surgical charge placement

**Post-Victory Mechanic: Risk vs Reward**

Clearing the stage does not end it immediately. When you eliminate the last hostile program, the Extraction Portal opens. You may enter and advance safely — or stay behind to mine remaining crates for rare chips and risk bonuses.

The longer you remain after victory, the higher your score multiplier grows. But emergency alarms trigger, spawning additional hostile reinforcements. Greed has a price.

**Game Modes**

* **Campaign** — 10 cybernetic sectors with rising difficulty curves, dynamic grid architectures, and epic boss battles
* **Endless Gauntlet** — uninterrupted survival against infinite waves of invading programs with continuous speed escalation
* **Time Attack** — a frantic 5-minute race focused on maximum score and fast destruction
* **Hardcore** — one life only, fuse time halved, and severe penalties for a single misstep
* **Sector Map** — free selection of unlocked stages to refine records and speed routes

**Audiovisual Style**

* **Cyberpunk Dark Neon aesthetic** — volumetric lighting, glowing neon particles, cinematic dark contrast
* **Clean interface** — all telemetry, remaining time, score, and portal status organized in a side panel, keeping the play grid 100% unobstructed
* **Dynamic Synthwave soundtrack** — retro-futuristic electronic beats and metallic 16-bit PCM sound effects that react to match intensity
* **Selectable graphic filters** — toggle between modern neon lighting and classic retro CRT scanline visuals

**Controls**

* **WASD / Arrow Keys** — movement
* **Space** — place plasma charge
* **Shift** — detonator (remote trigger)
* **Esc** — config / pause

## Enable snaps on CentOS and install NeonBlaster

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap is available for [CentOS 7.6+](https://snapcraft.io/install/neon-blaster/centos), and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6+, from the [Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux](https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL) (EPEL) repository. The EPEL repository can be added to your system with the following command:

```
sudo yum install epel-release
```

Snap can now be installed as follows:

```
sudo yum install snapd
```

Once installed, the *systemd* unit that manages the main snap communication socket needs to be enabled:

```
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.socket
```

To enable *classic* snap support, enter the following to create a symbolic link between `/var/lib/snapd/snap` and `/snap`:

```
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install NeonBlaster

To install NeonBlaster, simply use the following command:

```
