#### Shield your online activity and browse privately with the world’s leading VPN

Take your online security to the next level with one of the fastest VPNs for Linux, now with an easy-to-use GUI when downloaded from the Snap store. Whether you’re working from home or browsing over your hotel’s Wi-Fi, explore the internet with peace of mind.

**More security**

* **Secure connection.** Without encryption, your online traffic is vulnerable. NordVPN encrypts your connection to stop malicious actors from potentially stealing data.
* **Malicious domain blocker.** Don’t let misclicks take you to dangerous websites. Once turned on, Threat Protection will block access to known malicious domains.
* **Kill Switch.** Prevent leaks when you unexpectedly lose connection to NordVPN. Kill Switch automatically cuts off online access until your VPN connection is restored.
* **Specialty servers.** Get even more security from our Double VPN servers. Combine the privacy of the Tor browser with extra VPN security thanks to Onion Over VPN.

**More privacy**

* **Private online activity.** Unencrypted online traffic may be observed by others, including your ISP. Using NordVPN shields your online activity from prying eyes.
* **New virtual location.** Connect to a VPN server to use its IP address — and change your virtual location. NordVPN offers 8,200+ VPN servers covering 165 locations.
* **Censorship bypass.** Connecting to NordVPN servers lets you avoid many common censorship measures. Experience the internet with more privacy as it was meant to be.
* **Privacy-friendly practices.** NordVPN does not track your online activity. Our practices have been independently verified five times to prove our claims.

**More convenience**

* **Ad blocker.** Browse the web without ads getting in your way. Turn on our Threat Protection feature for Linux to block ads before they load.
* **Easy GUI.** Switch servers, toggle options, and check connection status with a few clicks — NordVPN on the Snap store comes with a handy graphical interface.
* **Optimized for speed.** All VPNs slow you down — but with NordVPN’s infrastructure and revolutionary NordLynx protocol (based on WireGuard®), you won’t notice it.
* **24/7 support.** Our friendly customer support team is ready to help you at any time. We also have detailed guides covering every NordVPN function in our Help Center.
* **SmartPlay.** Stream paid content from home while traveling with no extra steps. Simply connect to a VPN server in your country and enjoy the show.

## Enable snaps on openSUSE and install NordVPN

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed from the command line on openSUSE Leap 15.x and Tumbleweed.

You need first add the *snappy* repository from the terminal. Choose the appropriate command depending on your installed openSUSE flavor.

Tumbleweed:

```
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Tumbleweed snappy
```

Leap 15.x:

```
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Leap_15.6 snappy
```

If needed, Swap out `openSUSE_Leap_15.` for, `openSUSE_Leap_16.0` if you’re using a different version of openSUSE.

With the repository added, import its GPG key:

```
sudo zypper --gpg-auto-import-keys refresh
```

Finally, upgrade the package cache to include the new *snappy* repository:

```
sudo zypper dup --from snappy
```

Snap can now be installed with the following:

```
sudo zypper install snapd
```

You then need to either reboot, logout/login or `source /etc/profile` to have /snap/bin added to PATH.
Additionally, enable and start both the *snapd* and the *snapd.apparmor* services with the following commands:

```
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.apparmor
```

### Install NordVPN

To install NordVPN, simply use the following command:

```
