#### A Markdown app to read and review what your AI agents write

Open any Markdown (.md) file as a clean page, with tables, diagrams and math. Keep notes that save themselves. Working with AI? See what it changed since you last looked, and keep or revert each change. AI speeds the work. Your vision steers it.

Got a .md file?

* Open it as a clean page: tables, task lists, footnotes, alerts, highlighted code, Mermaid and PlantUML diagrams, math.
* Edit it as it looks, or as raw source; saving rewrites only what you changed.
* Keep quick notes that save themselves, with earlier versions kept.

Building with AI agents?

* Open a project folder to follow what your agents write: changed passages glow, unread dots mark what changed since you last read it, and you keep or revert each change.
* Comment on passages, tag files, and search down to the section. Config files (TOML, YAML, INI, .env) open as clean sheets.
* Optional agent connection (MCP, permark mcp). It tells your AI agents what you are reading: the open document, section and selection, unread changes, your comments to mark done, and search across the project. Local; agents never edit through it; off until you share a project.
* Works with any AI tool, or with none.

PerMark is a unified document workspace: Markdown at the center, with the config, data and code files around it. No account, no telemetry. Free and open source, MIT or Apache-2.0.

## Enable snaps on Fedora and install PerMark

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on Fedora from the command line:

```
sudo dnf install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

To enable *classic* snap support, enter the following to create a symbolic link between `/var/lib/snapd/snap` and `/snap`:

```
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
```

### Install PerMark

To install PerMark, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install permark
```
