#### Local AI with Qwen 3.5 inference snap

Qwen 3.5 is a multimodal instruction-tuned model from Qwen with vision capabilities, optimized directly for your hardware. It runs efficiently on pure CPU or leverages CUDA-enabled NVIDIA GPU acceleration.

Use this snap to quickly install an optimized environment for local inference with Qwen 3.5.

The snap includes the following hardware-optimized inference engines:

* cpu: Optimized for x64 and ARM (armv8, armv9) CPUs
* nvidia-gpu: CUDA-enabled GPU acceleration
* nvidia-jetson-orin: CUDA-enabled GPU acceleration for NVIDIA Jetson Orin devices

The most suitable engine is automatically selected based on the available hardware.

**Install:**

`sudo snap install qwen3-5`

**Run:**

`qwen3-5`

The Qwen 3.5 model is provided by Alibaba (Qwen) under the Apache 2.0 license.

## Enable snaps on elementary OS and install Qwen 3.5

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on elementary OS from the command line. Open *Terminal* from the Applications launcher and type the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install Qwen 3.5

To install Qwen 3.5, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install qwen3-5
```
