#### Private family tree, built together with your family

Sakdulur is a private family tree you build together with your family.

"Sak dulur" is Javanese for "one family". Map parents, partners and children across generations, add
photos and stories, and invite relatives to fill in their own branches. It works for a small household
as well as a whole trah or bani with hundreds of members.

**A real family tree**

* Couples side by side, children below their own parents, ancestors and descendants together
* Remarriages, divorces and engagements, each child under the right couple
* Birth, adoptive, step, foster, guardian and milk parents, with foster and step links drawn dashed
* Dates (even "about 1920"), places, photos and notes

**Build it together**

* Invite relatives as editors or viewers with a link
* Share a branch with the people who know it best
* Copy a branch between your tree, your spouse's and your in-laws'

**Ask and update by chatting**

* "Who is Ayu's father?" or "Add Rani as Ayu's daughter, born 1994."
* Nothing is saved until you press Apply; answers are generated by AI and can be reported

**Private by default**

* Every tree is private: only the people you invite can see it
* No ads, and your data is never sold
* Export as a picture, Excel or GEDCOM, or delete your account anytime

In English or Bahasa Indonesia, light or dark. Free. Needs an internet connection.

## Enable snaps on openSUSE and install Sakdulur: Family Tree

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed from the command line on openSUSE Leap 15.x and Tumbleweed.

You need first add the *snappy* repository from the terminal. Choose the appropriate command depending on your installed openSUSE flavor.

Tumbleweed:

```
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Tumbleweed snappy
```

Leap 15.x:

```
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Leap_15.6 snappy
```

If needed, Swap out `openSUSE_Leap_15.` for, `openSUSE_Leap_16.0` if you’re using a different version of openSUSE.

With the repository added, import its GPG key:

```
sudo zypper --gpg-auto-import-keys refresh
```

Finally, upgrade the package cache to include the new *snappy* repository:

```
sudo zypper dup --from snappy
```

Snap can now be installed with the following:

```
sudo zypper install snapd
```

You then need to either reboot, logout/login or `source /etc/profile` to have /snap/bin added to PATH.
Additionally, enable and start both the *snapd* and the *snapd.apparmor* services with the following commands:

```
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.apparmor
```
