#### Save your desktop configuration

Save Desktop helps you back up and restore your entire desktop environment with ease. It saves and imports your themes, icons, fonts, wallpapers, extensions, desktop folder, as well as other desktop settings — all in one archive. Choose what to include and keep your setup current with automatic periodic saves.

⚠️ **Warning**: The Save Desktop application for Snap Store will no longer receive any updates or bug fixes.
If you want the latest features and full support, please use the Flatpak version:

## Enable snaps on elementary OS and install Save Desktop

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on elementary OS from the command line. Open *Terminal* from the Applications launcher and type the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install Save Desktop

To install Save Desktop, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install savedesktop
```
