#### Action platform fan game, fantasy themed

A man named Aarbron is kidnapped as a child and corrupted through magic into a monstrous warrior-servant for the evil beast lord Maletoth. The creature’s memory of his human life returns when he watches a man being executed, whom he later recognizes as his father. This prompts Aarbron to seek revenge on Maletoth.

Languages: de, en, fr, it. This snap embeds the 2019 release, it is the remake of a 1989 game on Amiga computer, made with GameMaker.

**Bugs:**

* no sound then freeze on exit (must kill the process 'runner' from terminal). But all OK on second run.
* AMD GPU/IGP: the game does crash when loading.

The default controls are:

* Cursor - move
* Z - Fire
* X - Jump
* C - cycle through weapons (when you get another one)
* Enter - pause
* Esc - (once) kill self, (twice) - quit game

## Enable snaps on Ubuntu and install Shadow of the beast legacy

### Enable snapd

If you’re running [Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus)](https://www.ubuntu.com/) or later, including [Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver)](https://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/features) and [Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa)](https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FocalFossa/ReleaseNotes), you don’t need to do anything. Snap is already installed and ready to go.

For versions of Ubuntu between [14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)](https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TrustyTahr/ReleaseNotes) and [15.10 (Wily Werewolf)](https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WilyWerewolf/ReleaseNotes), as well as Ubuntu flavours that don’t include *snap* by default, *snap* can be installed from the Ubuntu Software Centre by searching for *snapd*.

Alternatively, snapd can be installed from the command line:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install Shadow of the beast legacy

To install Shadow of the beast legacy, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install shadowofthebeastlegacy --beta
```
