#### Local WordPress, Laravel and PHP stack with Nginx, MariaDB and SFTP

ShieldPress Local is a desktop app for running WordPress, Laravel, and PHP sites on your computer. It gives you Nginx, MariaDB, phpMyAdmin,
Redis, and multiple PHP versions through one interface — no server setup required.
Create a project, pick a PHP version, and start it with one click. Each site gets its own port and local domain. Install WordPress or Laravel
automatically, open the code in your editor, and manage the database from phpMyAdmin.

* PHP 8.3, 8.4, and 8.5 on Ubuntu, with an extension manager
* One-click start/stop for Nginx, PHP-CGI, MariaDB, and Redis
* Local HTTPS with mkcert

## Enable snaps on Pop!\_OS and install ShieldPress Local

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on Pop!\_OS from the command line. Open Terminal from the Applications launcher and type the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install ShieldPress Local

To install ShieldPress Local, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install shieldpress-local
```
