Packaging: application files are taken from the official Linux .deb fetched at build time
(<https://vb-builds.viberlab.com/Desktop/master/27.3.0.2/Lin/viber_27.3.0.2_Release_amd64.deb>) using source-type: deb.
Snap version metadata will be aligned with release/update workflow separately.
stage-packages lists (1) that .deb’s Depends line and (2) extra Ubuntu packages needed
because strict snaps cannot use the normal host /usr (Qt/X11/GL/GTK/PipeWire, etc.).

## Enable snaps on Debian and install Viber

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

On Debian 9 (Stretch) and newer, snap can be installed directly from the command line:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

After this, install the snapd snap in order to get the latest snapd:

```
sudo snap install snapd
```

### Install Viber

To install Viber, simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install viber
```
