It will perform the following actions: * sets up an isolated VictoriaMetrics instance; * simulates the periodic ingestion of time series; * queries the ingested data for recording and alerting rules evaluation like ; * checks whether the firing alerts or resulting recording rules match the expected results. **See how to run vmalert-tool for unit test below:** Run vmalert-tool with one or multiple test files via --files cmd-line flag `./vmalert-tool unittest --files test1.yaml --files test2.yaml` vmalert-tool unittest is compatible with Prometheus config format for tests ( except) `promql_expr_test` field. Use `metricsql_expr_test` field name instead. They update automatically and roll back gracefully. Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions. ### Enable snapd Snap is available for [Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8](https://www.redhat.com/en/enterprise-linux-8) and RHEL 7, from the 7.6 release onward. The packages for RHEL 7, RHEL 8, and RHEL 9 are in each distribution’s respective [Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux](https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL) (EPEL) repository. The instructions for adding this repository diverge slightly between RHEL 7, RHEL 8 and RHEL 9, which is why they’re listed separately below.
