#### Unofficial snap of WinSCP, a free SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, S3 and SCP client.

WinSCP is a popular free SFTP and FTP client for Windows, here packaged with WINE. It copies files between a local and a remote computer using multiple protocols: FTP, FTPS, SCP, SFTP, WebDAV or S3. WinSCP offers an integrated text editor, scripting and task automation, integration with PuTTY, and support for SSH password, keyboard-interactive, public key and Kerberos authentication. It has both a two-panel Commander interface and an Explorer interface.

This is an unofficial snap. It is not associated with, endorsed or supported
by the WinSCP project. Please report problems with the snap at
<https://github.com/skjerns/winscp-snap/issues>, not to WinSCP.

You may also want `snap connect winscp:removable-media` to reach USB disks and
other drives, and `snap connect winscp:ssh-keys` to reach OpenSSH keys in
~/.ssh.

## Enable snaps on Pop!\_OS and install WinSCP (WINE)

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on Pop!\_OS from the command line. Open Terminal from the Applications launcher and type the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install WinSCP (WINE)

To install WinSCP (WINE), simply use the following command:

```
sudo snap install winscp
```
