#### Set icon for any given X11 window

Xterm, and likely many other X11 programs, do not set themselves window icons, which window managers typically use to represent that program window in switcher lists, taskbars, and so on. This program can set the X11 window icon for any given window, to that of a given image file.

**Snap-specific information**

Due to the snap's confined nature the application can only access icons in the user's home directory. To access icons under `/media` and `/mnt` directories you have to manually connect the snap to the `removable-media` interface by running the following command in a terminal:

```
 sudo snap connect xseticon:removable-media
```

## Enable snaps on Pop!\_OS and install xseticon (UNOFFICIAL)

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

Snaps are discoverable and installable from the [Snap Store](https://snapcraft.io/store), an app store with an audience of millions.

### Enable snapd

Snap can be installed on Pop!\_OS from the command line. Open Terminal from the Applications launcher and type the following:

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
```

Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.

### Install xseticon (UNOFFICIAL)

To install xseticon (UNOFFICIAL), simply use the following command:
