#### Reclaim the disk space your development tools left behind

Development tools quietly fill your disk. Android SDKs and emulators, Gradle
and Maven caches, npm and Yarn packages, IDE caches for every version you have
ever run, and a dependency folder in every project you have ever built.

This shows you all of it at once: which area is the worst, which single
folders are the biggest, and — for every entry — whether removing it costs you
nothing, a download, or something you cannot get back.

What it does:

* An overview that answers "where did it go" at a glance
* Grouped by what you work with: IDEs and editors, Android, Java and Gradle,
JavaScript and Node, Python, Rust and Go, C/C++ and build systems,
containers and packaging, embedded, your own projects, logs
* Rates every entry Safe, Caution or Risky, and says why
* Finds dependency and build folders inside your own projects
* Leaves the newest SDK and toolchain versions alone
* Only lists what is really installed on this machine — nothing else clutters
  the window
* Counts what the filesystem counts, so the figure matches what you get back
* Refuses to touch system folders and other people's files
* Deletes only what you ticked, after a confirmation that says so
* Available in 44 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian,
Portuguese, Catalan, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Slovenian, Croatian,
Serbian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Hungarian, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian,
Finnish, Lithuanian, Latvian, Greek, Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian,
Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Korean,
Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Malay, Tagalog, Hindi, Bengali, Nepali,
Urdu, Persian, Arabic, Hebrew, Swahili (Automatic follows the system
  language)
* Light and dark theme

▶ ONE-TIME SETUP

sudo snap connect jsdevcleaner:system-backup

Developer caches live in hidden folders — ~/.gradle, ~/.npm, ~/.cache — and a
confined app cannot even see them until you allow it. This permission is
read-only: it lets the app measure those folders, and it changes nothing by
itself. No reboot, just restart the app.

Anything the sandbox will not let the app delete is collected in a list of its
own, and one click opens it in your file manager — which runs outside the
sandbox with full access.

Supported systems:

* Ubuntu 24.04+, Fedora 40+, Arch Linux, openSUSE Tumbleweed
* Any Linux desktop with X11 or Wayland
* x86\_64 (64-bit)

Also available as .deb, .rpm, Flatpak and AppImage at www.budbrain.de

▶ PLEASE NOTE

This app deletes permanently — there is no undo, and nothing is moved to the
trash. Nothing is preselected: you tick every item yourself, each one is rated
Safe, Caution or Risky, and a confirmation says so before anything goes.
Please check your selection before you confirm, and keep a backup of anything
you cannot recreate. The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any
kind, and is used at your own risk.
