#### Powerful open-source relational database management system

MySQL is the world's most popular open-source relational database management system, powering many of the world's most accessed applications, including Amazon, Netflix, Uber, and many more. It delivers a multi-threaded, multi-user, and robust SQL database server for mission-critical, heavy-load production systems. MySQL is fast, reliable, and powerful.

---

**Commands**:

* `mysql-strict.mysql`
* `mysql-strict.mysqladmin`
* `mysql-strict.mysqldump`
* `mysql-strict.mysqlimport`

**Tip**: For convenience, you can create an alias using snapd's alias feature.

```
 sudo snap alias mysql-strict.mysql mysql
```

**Note**: By default, this snap uses the `auth_socket` plugin, similar to the deb version. Therefore, `sudo` is required to authenticate the MySQL root user.

```
 sudo mysql
```

To log in with a password instead (using `mysql -u root -p`), execute the following SQL statement (change `YOUR_NEW_PASS` below with a strong password):

```
 ALTER USER 'root'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED WITH caching_sha2_password BY 'YOUR_NEW_PASS';
```
