Note: On some distros, you may need to install the core snap for this to work (sudo snap install core)
Toontown Rewritten (TTR) is a fan-made recreation of Disney's closed MMORPG, Toontown Online. The game is completely free to play and is open to anybody. The only requirement is an account.
The game takes place in the town of Toontown, which is a world inhabited by the fun loving toons. However the cogs, a race of evil business robots, seek to destroy the toons' fun and turn the bright and fun town in which the toons live into a dark and corporate dystopia. You, the newest toon in town, must use your gags, hilarious jokes which the cogs cannot tolerate, to retake the town and drive the cogs out once and for all.
This snap contains a slightly modified version of the official Toontown Rewritten launcher, modifications include python 3 support (python 2 is deprecated and a pain to build for) and other various things to work better with snap (changing game file storage location to the snap common folder, loading launcher resources from /usr/share/ttr, etc). Due to the fact that this launcher is modified, the TTR team will not provide support if anything goes wrong with the launcher (the game's client is unmodified though, so they can support that). You can find the official launcher on their site, which is linked below. However, the game's official launcher does not seem to work with Linux currently, as evidenced by game crashes on all the computers I have tried to run it on using the official launcher, which is the reason why I decided to snap this.
If you have any issues regarding the snap, please email me using the snap's contact email.
