#### Self-hosted live scoreboard kiosk for NBA, NFL, MLB, F1, UFC, cricket

A live sports scoreboard for a wall-mounted tablet or spare monitor. Shows scores and upcoming games for NFL, NBA, MLB, F1, UFC and cricket, rotating through them on its own so there is nothing to click.

Scores come from ESPN's public endpoints, polled every 30 seconds while a game is live and every 5 minutes otherwise. Redis is optional: if one is reachable on `127.0.0.1:6379` the app caches through it, and if not it simply makes more upstream requests.

**IMPORTANT:** this snap binds loopback only, so it is not reachable from a tablet out of the box. That is deliberate -- the kiosk is never exposed on your LAN by accident. Put a reverse proxy or a VPN in front of it. The README in the source repository has a working caddy config for a tablet that cannot run a VPN client, such as an Amazon Fire.

Set the timezone used for game times:

$ sudo snap set vsingh-sport-kiosk tz=America/Chicago

Note that `/api/health` returns `503` when Redis is absent, which is normal here. Use `/` or `/api/games` as a liveness check instead.

ESPN is not affiliated with this project and does not endorse it. The endpoints are undocumented and can change without notice, which is the likeliest reason for a sport suddenly showing no events.
