This is a snap that bundles MySQL Server together with other tools of its ecosystem in order to be used in Charmed Operators, providing automated operations management from day 0 to day 2 on the MySQL deployed on top of a Virtual Machine cluster and K8s cluster. It is an open source, end-to-end, production ready data platform on top of cloud native technologies.
The MySQL software delivers a very fast, multithreaded, multi-user, and robust SQL (Structured Query Language) database server. MySQL Server is intended for mission-critical, heavy-load production systems as well as for embedding into mass-deployed software.
Swap out openSUSE_Leap_15.5 for openSUSE_Leap_15.4 or openSUSE_Tumbleweed if you’re using a different version of openSUSE.
With the repository added, import its GPG key:
sudo zypper --gpg-auto-import-keys refresh
Finally, upgrade the package cache to include the new snappy repository:
sudo zypper dup --from snappy
Snap can now be installed with the following:
sudo zypper install snapd
You then need to either reboot, logout/login or source /etc/profile to have /snap/bin added to PATH.
Additionally, enable and start both the snapd and the snapd.apparmor services with the following commands:
