NOW WITH A TUI!
A Minecraft Server installer and configuration snap that downloads the latest .jar file and allows you to start your server with the amount of RAM you choose.
Admins may now run custom MAX RAM settings! Minimum RAM requirements are 1024M, so please keep this in mind. Additionally, -Xmn values have been reduced to 128M to keep with current guidance. See: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Server/Requirements
You can also backup your entire server with option 10 in the menu. They are pushed to /home/user/ so that uninstalling the snap won't affect your backups.
TUI USAGE:
The application will start the server running in the background. You can check your logs via server.log
. You can go ahead and safely quit the TUI, and it won't interrupt the server running. You can either stop the server using the typical commands in the terminal (e.g. searching for the pids) or you can return to the TUI, and scroll to "Option 13" and hit enter. The TUI will stop the server running.

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.
Snaps are discoverable and installable from the Snap Store, an app store with an audience of millions.
Snap can be installed on Fedora from the command line:
sudo dnf install snapd
Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.
To enable classic snap support, enter the following to create a symbolic link between /var/lib/snapd/snap
and /snap
:
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
To install mc-server-installer, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install mc-server-installer
Browse and find snaps from the convenience of your desktop using the snap store snap.
