This app is meant to be a customizable counter in wxwidgets.
Let's begin immediately by saying that the chosen date can only be prior or equal to the present one, in other case you obtain an error.
If the system language is neither Italian, nor English, nor French, nor German, nor Spanish, nor Portuguese, starting the app a notification will appear saying that the translation does not exist and the app will open in English, otherwise the the app will open in one of these languages, then just the message that the background for the app cannot be found, will still work fine.
To fully enjoy the app, you need to set a file named background.jpg in the home/snap/wxdatefrom/current directory, in this way by opening the app you can fully enjoy the image inserted as background.
By clicking on the button, the message "you met a about x days, y hours and z minutes ago" or "about x days, y hours and z minutes are passed" will appear as notification. Everything is managed by wxwidgets, and therefore basically there is a wxtimespan which is a class that manages long types, for which it is possible to set dates also very far from becoming.
The set date and name are saved when the program is exited, in order to have a better use of it.

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.
Snaps are discoverable and installable from the Snap Store, an app store with an audience of millions.
On Arch Linux, snap can be installed from the Arch User Repository (AUR). The manual build process is the Arch-supported install method for AUR packages, and you’ll need the prerequisites installed before you can install any AUR package. You can then install snap with the following:
git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/snapd.git
cd snapd
makepkg -si
Once installed, the systemd unit that manages the main snap communication socket needs to be enabled:
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.socket
If AppArmor is enabled in your system, enable the service which loads AppArmor profiles for snaps:
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.apparmor.service
To enable classic snap support, enter the following to create a symbolic link between /var/lib/snapd/snap
and /snap
:
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.
To install wxdatefrom, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install wxdatefrom
Browse and find snaps from the convenience of your desktop using the snap store snap.
