Dashy is a self-hosted start page for your services and bookmarks. It shows each item with an icon, its status and optional widgets, and supports themes, multiple pages, search, keyboard shortcuts and an in-browser config editor.
Getting started
The service starts right after installation and listens on 127.0.0.1:4000 (this machine only). Open http://localhost:4000.
The dashboard is configured in /var/snap/dashy/common/user-data/conf.yml, which you can edit by hand or from the web interface. Changes saved from the web interface are backed up to /var/snap/dashy/common/user-data/config-backups.
To open it to your network:
sudo snap set dashy host=0.0.0.0
Settings
sudo snap set dashy port=4000 host=127.0.0.1
sudo snap set dashy http-auth=true
Ping checks
Status checks over HTTP work out of the box. Ping checks (pingCheckEnabled) need raw ICMP sockets; to allow them, run:
sudo snap connect dashy:network-observe
HTTPS
Place dashy-pub.pem and dashy-priv.key in /var/snap/dashy/common/ssl and restart the service. HTTPS is then served on port 4001 (ssl-port).

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.
Snaps are discoverable and installable from the Snap Store, an app store with an audience of millions.
On Debian 9 (Stretch) and newer, snap can be installed directly from the command line:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
After this, install the snapd snap in order to get the latest snapd:
sudo snap install snapd
To install Dashy, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install dashy
Browse and find snaps from the convenience of your desktop using the snap store snap.
