Desktop Scriptures is an offline reader for the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, Journal of Discourses, Lectures on Faith, and the Joseph Smith Translation, with the KJV Apocrypha, 1 Enoch, and the Book of Jasher available as opt-in volumes that aren't part of the Standard Works. Study with notes, tags, highlighting, keyword search, a Topical Guide, a daily Journal, hand-checked cross-references, General Conference and Liahona citations, and a Word Study tab showing the Hebrew and Greek behind the English and what Book of Mormon names may mean. Optional extras include chapters read aloud in voices you download once, AI-assisted search through an AI service you choose, cloud-folder sync between your own devices, Church News and Come Follow Me, and reminders for General Conference, temple recommend renewal, and family history. Nothing reaches the network until you switch it on, except a weekly update of new talk and article citations, which you can turn off under View. This is an unofficial app, not produced by or affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or Community of Christ; sources, credits, and licenses are in the About menu and at https://github.com/kz6fittycent/Desktop-Scriptures.

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.
Snaps are discoverable and installable from the Snap Store, an app store with an audience of millions.
Snap is available for CentOS 7.6+, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6+, from the Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) repository. The EPEL repository can be added to your system with the following command:
sudo yum install epel-release
Snap can now be installed as follows:
sudo yum install snapd
Once installed, the systemd unit that manages the main snap communication socket needs to be enabled:
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.socket
To enable classic snap support, enter the following to create a symbolic link between /var/lib/snapd/snap and /snap:
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.
To install Desktop Scriptures, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install desktop-scriptures
Browse and find snaps from the convenience of your desktop using the snap store snap.
