A development branch of FreeCAD featuring enhanced UI, Rendering, and more
FreeCAD is a multi plaform parametric 3D modeler. The FreeCAD Link Branch is a fork of FreeCAD maintained by developer RealThunder. The branch featured numerous enhancments to the upstream FreeCAD in various aspects, most notably the user interface, rendering, and a working solution to the notorious Topological Naming problem.
There are two maintained channels for this snap:
stable is based on upstream FreeCAD 0.19 release, along with various new features (but no rendering enhancement) developed before 0.19 got released. This channel will contains mostly bug fixes, and minor new features.
edge is where all the exciting new features got released. It contains the latest commit from the FreeCAD Link Branch (https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD). Unlike the convention, here, the user is encouraged to try the edge release, to help improve all new features so that they can one day land in upstream FreeCAD.
There are multiple apps/commands included in the snap:
freecad-realthunder: Run FreeCAD
freecad-realthunder.cmd: Run FreeCAD command line interface
freecad-realthunder.pip: Install python packages for user (not system-wide). E.g. freecad-ppd.pip install py_slvs for Assembly3.
