AI coding agents run commands with your permissions, including your SSH keys
and Git credentials. A single unattended git push can force-push over shared
history, delete a branch or publish unreviewed code, and that is hard to undo
once it reaches the server.
git-watchdog removes push access while an agent is running. As long as a
watched process is alive (by default the Claude CLI and Claude Desktop), it
puts the remotes of your local repositories in read-only mode:
git push fails instead of reaching the server. When the process exits, the original remotes are restored exactly as they were. It guards against accidental pushes, not a determined attacker; see https://github.com/dobicinaitis/git-watchdog#security-notes

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.
Snaps are discoverable and installable from the Snap Store, an app store with an audience of millions.
Snap can be installed on Fedora from the command line:
sudo dnf install snapd
Either log out and back in again, or restart your system, to ensure snap’s paths are updated correctly.
To enable classic snap support, enter the following to create a symbolic link between /var/lib/snapd/snap and /snap:
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap
To install git-watchdog, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install git-watchdog
Browse and find snaps from the convenience of your desktop using the snap store snap.
