KimiDoc is a self-hosted HTML to PDF API: convert HTML and CSS templates into pixel-perfect PDF documents on your own server. Design invoices, payslips, bank statements, reports, certificates, resumes and shipping labels as plain HTML with mustache-style placeholders, then render them over REST, one document at a time or in batch jobs of up to 40,000 documents.
Rendering uses a Chromium-class engine kept warm between requests, so the PDF output matches what a browser prints: flexbox, grid, web fonts, SVG charts, right-to-left scripts, and real page numbers through CSS @page. A modern alternative to wkhtmltopdf scripting and to driving a headless browser yourself: no process spawned per document, no cold starts, no conversion glue code.
What's in the box
Private by design
Your documents never leave your server. There is no telemetry and no outbound call, so KimiDoc fits air-gapped networks and regulated data such as invoices, payroll and patient records. The service runs fully confined and is configured entirely through snap: snap set kimidoc port=8899 api-key=SECRET.
Install, open the bundled web console, and render your first PDF in minutes. Guides, API reference and template documentation live at https://kimidoc.com and self-hosted licensing at https://kimidoc.com/self-hosted/. A hosted version is available for teams that do not want to run their own server.

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.
Snaps are discoverable and installable from the Snap Store, an app store with an audience of millions.
Snap can be installed from the command line on openSUSE Leap 15.x and Tumbleweed.
You need first add the snappy repository from the terminal. Choose the appropriate command depending on your installed openSUSE flavor.
Tumbleweed:
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Tumbleweed snappy
Leap 15.x:
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Leap_15.6 snappy
If needed, Swap out openSUSE_Leap_15. for, openSUSE_Leap_16.0 if you’re using a different version of openSUSE.
With the repository added, import its GPG key:
sudo zypper --gpg-auto-import-keys refresh
Finally, upgrade the package cache to include the new snappy repository:
sudo zypper dup --from snappy
Snap can now be installed with the following:
sudo zypper install snapd
You then need to either reboot, logout/login or source /etc/profile to have /snap/bin added to PATH.
Additionally, enable and start both the snapd and the snapd.apparmor services with the following commands:
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.apparmor
To install KimiDoc : HTML to PDF API, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install kimidoc
Browse and find snaps from the convenience of your desktop using the snap store snap.
