A helper for converting CSV files into a LaTeX command format, so that the data can be used for mail merge letters.
Purpose of the Program
LaTeX is a fantastic tool for composing and writing mail merges. The LaTeX document classes letter
and scrlttr2
provide the implementation of typesetting letters of all kind.
For writing a mail merge, it has been a common way to wrap the letter class into a created command and then call this command multiple times.
This would create a letters for each command with the adapted content. But where does the data come from? Mostly we would use Excel/Calc-Sheets where we have tables of customers, friends, etc. which we would like to address. In this case, it would be very complicated to manually create an adapted LaTeX command for each entry. Here latexmailmerge
steps in. It can convert a CSV file into a TeX file with the appropriate content which then can be used to create a mail merge.

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.
Snaps are discoverable and installable from the Snap Store, an app store with an audience of millions.
If you’re running Kubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) or later, including Kubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver) and Kubuntu 18.10 (Cosmic Cuttlefish), you don’t need to do anything. Snap is already installed and ready to go.
Versions of Kubuntu between 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) don’t include snap by default, but snap can be installed from the command line as follows:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
To install latexmailmerge, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install latexmailmerge
Browse and find snaps from the convenience of your desktop using the snap store snap.
