MarkItDown converts PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HTML, images, audio and other files to Markdown, ready to use with text tools and language models.

File access
MarkItDown can use files in your home directory. To also use USB drives and other removable media (/media, /mnt), run:
sudo snap connect markitdown:removable-media

Snap can be installed from the command line. Open the Konsole terminal and enter the following:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
To install MarkItDown, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install markitdown
