Powerful open-source relational database management system
MySQL is the world's most popular open-source relational database management system, powering many of the world's most accessed applications, including Amazon, Netflix, Uber, and many more. It delivers a multi-threaded, multi-user, and robust SQL database server for mission-critical, heavy-load production systems. MySQL is fast, reliable, and powerful.
Commands:
mysql-strict.mysql
mysql-strict.mysqladmin
mysql-strict.mysqldump
mysql-strict.mysqlimport
Tip: For convenience, you can create an alias using snapd's alias feature.
sudo snap alias mysql-strict.mysql mysql
Note: By default, this snap uses the auth_socket
plugin, similar to the deb version. Therefore, sudo
is required to authenticate the MySQL root user.
sudo mysql
To log in with a password instead (using mysql -u root -p
), execute the following SQL statement (change YOUR_NEW_PASS
below with a strong password):
ALTER USER 'root'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED WITH caching_sha2_password BY 'YOUR_NEW_PASS';
