rpki-client is a FREE, easy-to-use implementation of the Resource Public Key
Infrastructure (RPKI) for Relying Parties (RP) to facilitate validation of
BGP announcements. The program queries the global RPKI repository system and
validates untrusted network inputs. The program outputs validated ROA payloads
and BGPsec Router keys in configuration formats suitable for OpenBGPD and BIRD,
or in CSV or JSON format for consumption by other routing stacks.

This snap installs a service that runs hourly and by default outputs validated
payloads in OpenBGPD compatible format to /var/snap/rpki-client/common/out.

If you’re running Kubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) or later, including Kubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver) and Kubuntu 18.10 (Cosmic Cuttlefish), you don’t need to do anything. Snap is already installed and ready to go.
Versions of Kubuntu between 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) don’t include snap by default, but snap can be installed from the command line as follows:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
To install rpki-client, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install rpki-client
