SATS Play is a powerful, local OTT (Over-The-Top) media server designed to stream your personal video library to any device on your home network. There is no need to install client apps on every device—simply run SATS Play on your computer or Raspberry Pi, select the folder containing your videos, and it instantly generates a private local web link (e.g., 192.168.1.20:8080). Open that link in any web browser on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or smart TV to start watching immediately.
Key Features:
Universal Access: Watch on any device with a modern web browser. No apps or plugins required.
Play Any Format: MP4 and WebM files play directly. MKV, AVI, and MOV files are seamlessly transcoded to HLS streaming on the fly without permanently altering your original files.
Pick Up Where You Left Off: Smart playback tracking remembers your progress, allowing you to pause on your TV and resume exactly where you left off on your phone.
Automatic Subtitles: Place an .srt or .vtt file next to your video, and SATS Play will automatically load it into the player.
Beautiful Library Interface: The server automatically generates video posters and thumbnails from your files to create a premium, Netflix-style browsing experience.
100% Private & Secure: Your files never leave your home network. SATS Play works completely offline, requires no user accounts, and contains zero analytics or tracking.
Built for Performance: Engineered by SATS Dot In, SATS Play runs efficiently in the background on Windows, standard Ubuntu/Linux machines, and even low-power ARM64 devices like the Raspberry Pi 5.
