Screenshot Tool es una herramienta rápida, liviana y nativa para capturar, anotar y compartir tu pantalla en Linux.
Inspirada en la experiencia de Lightshot, pero desarrollada como una aplicación independiente para Linux. Diseñada para funcionar de forma local, simple y sin depender de servicios externos. Hecha con Python 3 y PyQt6: sin Electron, sin cuentas y sin nube.
Presionás la tecla, seleccionás el área, agregás anotaciones y listo: copiás la captura al portapapeles o la guardás en disco en segundos.

Screenshot Tool funciona completamente offline. No usa telemetría, no requiere cuentas, no sube capturas a internet y no depende de servicios externos. Lo que capturás es tuyo y se queda en tu equipo.
Compatibilidad
Screenshot Tool captura en X11 y Wayland mediante varios backends nativos, con soporte para GNOME, KDE Plasma, Sway e Hyprland. Si un método de captura no está disponible en tu sistema, prueba el siguiente automáticamente.
La experiencia completa —icono en la bandeja y atajo global instantáneo— está plenamente integrada en GNOME y X11. En otros compositores Wayland la captura funciona igual, pero el icono de bandeja o el atajo global pueden requerir un paso de configuración adicional según tu entorno.
En GNOME podés asignar la tecla Impr Pant a Screenshot Tool con un clic desde el menú de la bandeja. Para usar atajos globales dentro de aplicaciones Wayland nativas (como Chrome), puede ser necesario conectar el permiso input del snap una sola vez.

Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.
Snaps are discoverable and installable from the Snap Store, an app store with an audience of millions.
Snap can be installed from the command line on openSUSE Leap 15.x and Tumbleweed.
You need first add the snappy repository from the terminal. Choose the appropriate command depending on your installed openSUSE flavor.
Tumbleweed:
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Tumbleweed snappy
Leap 15.x:
sudo zypper addrepo --refresh https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/system:/snappy/openSUSE_Leap_15.6 snappy
If needed, Swap out openSUSE_Leap_15. for, openSUSE_Leap_16.0 if you’re using a different version of openSUSE.
With the repository added, import its GPG key:
sudo zypper --gpg-auto-import-keys refresh
Finally, upgrade the package cache to include the new snappy repository:
sudo zypper dup --from snappy
Snap can now be installed with the following:
sudo zypper install snapd
You then need to either reboot, logout/login or source /etc/profile to have /snap/bin added to PATH.
Additionally, enable and start both the snapd and the snapd.apparmor services with the following commands:
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd
sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.apparmor
To install Screenshot Tool, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install screenshot-tool
Browse and find snaps from the convenience of your desktop using the snap store snap.
