Install latest/stable of Eclipse
Ubuntu 16.04 or later?
Make sure snap support is enabled in your Desktop store.
Install using the command line
sudo snap install eclipse --classic

Eclipse provides IDEs and platforms for nearly every language and architecture. This snap contains the Java IDE. Support for other languages like C/C++, JavaScript and PHP can be installed via the Eclipse Marketplace (https://marketplace.eclipse.org/).
