+++++ NOTE !!! +++++ This miner will not mine HNT for you. Actual mining requires hardware keys to be available on your gateway that are only available on actual helium miner gateway hardware ! Without such hardware it will run, but not generate HNT.
If you are running on an actual HNT Gateway, please edit the {key, ...} entry in /var/snap/helium-miner/common/config/sys.config to make it talk to the i2c slot holding the key.
For more detail visit https://docs.helium.com/mine-hnt/ +++++ NOTE !!! +++++
Miner for the helium blockchain. This snap requires multiple interfaces to be connected before the miner daemon can start.
snap connect helium-miner:log-observe
snap connect helium-miner:hardware-observe
snap connect helium-miner:network-control
After connecting these interfaces the miner daemon will automatically start. All variable data and log files are stored under /var/snap/helium-miner/common
If you run this snap on an officially approved helium hotspot, you can allow access to an i2c attached key via
snap connect helium-miner:i2c pi:i2c-1
To talk directly to the miner daemon you can use the shipped helium-miner command like below.
helium-miner info summary
The genesis blockchain api can be found in /var/snap/helium-miner/common/miner/update/genesis You can use the "helium-miner genesis load ..." command pointing to that directory to load and update the blockchain api.
The miner daemon registers as com.helium.Miner to the system dbus of the host
Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.
Snaps are discoverable and installable from the Snap Store, an app store with an audience of millions.
If you’re running Kubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) or later, including Kubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver) and Kubuntu 18.10 (Cosmic Cuttlefish), you don’t need to do anything. Snap is already installed and ready to go.
Versions of Kubuntu between 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) don’t include snap by default, but snap can be installed from the command line as follows:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
To install helium-miner, simply use the following command:
sudo snap install helium-miner --edge
Browse and find snaps from the convenience of your desktop using the snap store snap.
